Only Lenovo & Acer branded Chromebooks will work for testing. The older Asus (black top) and Samsung branded Chromebooks will work with day to day items, but the OS on these devices have hit their end of life. This means they will still work but not update to the latest chrome browser needed for the ODE state testing.

If you run across a Lenovo or Acer branded Chromebook that pops up with the following message "unsupported OS or browser"; it'll need to be updated. This is a fairly easy process, and you can click on the link below for guide on updating a Chromebook.

How to update your Chromebook

Google does not give us a way to push commands to update Chromebooks remotely; I wish they did. So it might be a good idea to test your group of Chromebooks by following the above steps beforehand to make sure that you don't get the "unsupported OS or browser" error message.

Note: The ODE website says that your Chromebook must be on ChromeOS 83 or above (current version is 89), so if your device is on ChromeOS 83 - 89 you'll be good to go.
